01Are rotary jet pumps and pitot tube pumps the same type?
Yes. A rotor (rotating case) moves the liquid, while a fixed pick-up tube receives it. The tube converts liquid velocity into outlet pressure. Both names describe this construction.
02Does Roto-Jet describe the same pumping principle?
Yes. Roto-Jet (also written roto jet or rotojet) is a pump brand using this same principle. Its rotor turns while its pick-up tube stays fixed.
03Can WeiMing replace a Roto-Jet pump?
WeiMing supplies directly replaceable Roto-Jet pick-up tubes and rotor assemblies. A complete pump can also be supplied for the required flow and head. Custom flanges match existing pipes, with the base and drive checked for the installation.
04Must I return the old pick-up tube?
No. A replacement pick-up tube can be ordered without returning the old one. We send the proposed drawing for your confirmation before supply. Other parts may require an existing drawing or old-part measurement.
05How is the replacement part confirmed?
The pump model and operating conditions identify the proposed part. The drawing review checks the dimensions of tubes and rotors. Other components use customer drawings or old-part measurements.
06What delivery schedule should I plan around?
Most models are available from stock and can be dispatched after payment. A non-stock unit generally takes 20–60 days, with about 30 days being common. Motors, variable-frequency cabinets and gearboxes can affect non-stock delivery. Pick-up tubes, rotors and mechanical seals are also stocked.
07What warranty is offered?
Warranty: 12 months after installation or 18 months after delivery. Keep the model, curve and project drawings with the equipment. They help identify the pump for service and parts requests.
08Can the main discharge valve be closed during operation?
The pump can operate towards shut-off while a small continuous bypass stays open. This prevents liquid heating when the main outlet is nearly or fully closed. Minimum and maximum demand are checked against the selected curve.
09Can the liquid contain solid particles or some gas?
Small amounts of gas or particles can be handled. More gas gradually lowers flow and head. Particle size and hardness affect tube wear; a coated tube addresses particle wear, while wetted materials address chemical resistance.
10What are the temperature and viscosity limits?
Maximum liquid temperature is 260 °C. Viscosity can be up to 250 cSt; operation is best below 100 cSt. Liquid properties and inlet conditions are used with the required operating point to select the model, speed, materials and seal.
11Which data belongs in a pump inquiry?
Include the liquid, temperature, flow and head. Give inlet and outlet pressures with measurement locations, NPSHa and power supply where available. For replacement work, add the nameplate model; photos are optional. The contact page has a copyable checklist.
12What is included in the technical proposal?
Selection support includes a performance curve and project outline drawings. The proposal covers a bare-shaft pump, motor-pump set or skid, as requested. Materials, seal requirements and piping or drive retained for replacement work are included in the review.
13Can the complete pump be repaired?
Yes. WeiMing offers complete Roto-Jet pump overhaul as well as parts supply. Remote technical support is available, and on-site service can be requested. Inspection findings help determine the required repair.
